Curriculum Corner: Moving the Camera

The Guerrilla Guide To Moviemaking, Moviemaking 101/201 curriculum teaches the fundamentals of filmmaking.

The exercises included with the program teach moviemaking skills that inspire creativity as students apply those fundamentals to create more powerful messages.

Production value is the true mark of a professional looking movie. Knowing when and how to move the camera is a sure way to add production value. With the small size of cameras being used today it is fairly easy to create a moving shot using common household items. The most obvious is a skateboard. This assignment challenges the students to find simple ways to smoothly move the camera.
