Electronic News Gathering - Crafting a News Story

The Guerrilla Guide To Moviemaking, Moviemaking 101/201 curriculum teaches the fundamentals of filmmaking.

The exercises included with the program inspire creativity as students learn to apply those fundamentals to create more powerful messages.

Electronic News Gathering is a valuable technique for a filmmaker to master. Becoming acutely aware of what is happening around you and developing the skills needed to capture those visual elements and emotional moments are critical to telling a news story.

Good interviews, narration and B-roll are at the heart of any story. This exercise is designed to help students refine the interview process so they can get to the meat of the story as quickly and concisely as possible, as well as apply simple techniques for shooting B-roll and composing narration.

Play the movie for the assignment. This exercise will be added to the library of exercises in the Moviemaking 101/201 curriculum available at guerrillafilmguide.com.
