OETC is proud to welcome Dr. Yong Zhao as the keynote presenter for the second day of the conference. Dr. Zhao is an internationally known scholar, author, and speaker. His works focus on the implications of globalization and technology on education. He has designed schools that cultivate global competence, developed computer games for language learning, and founded research and development institutions to explore innovative education models. He has published more than 100 articles and 20 books, including Catching Up or Leading the Way: American Education in the Age of Globalization and World Class Learners: Educating Creative and Entrepreneurial Students. He is a recipient of the Early Career Award from the American Educational Research Association and in 2012 was named one of the 10 most influential people in educational technology by Tech & Learn Magazine. He is an elected fellow of the International Academy for Education. His latest book, World Class Learners, has won several awards, including the Society of Professors of Education Book Award (2013), the Association of Education Publishers’ (AEP) Judges’ Award, and the Distinguished Achievement Award in Education Leadership(2013).

In addition, OETC is proud to welcome Richard Byrne and Vicki Davis to the 2015 lineup!

Richard’s focus is on free tools that teachers and administrators can use to improve the learning experiences of their students. His framework for using technology in education can be summed-up in three words; Discovery, Discussion, and Demonstration. That framework is used for explaining the purposes of the tools that he introduces during his presentations and workshops.

Vicki, aka Cool Cat Teacher, will help you teach with better results, lead with a positive impact and live with greater purpose. If you want to know what 21st century teaching looks like, many – including Thomas Friedman in "The World is Flat" and Don Tapscott in "Grown Up Digital" mention Vicki as an example. The ISTE Online Learning Award, Pioneer in Open Source Virtual World Technology, and Edublog Award for the Best Teacher Blog are three of the many honors she has earned.
